Mattawan, MI – An Amtrak train headed for Chicago last Sunday struck a vehicle, killing the only passenger in the car Aubrey Noble of Portage.
Noble’s two door Saturn was hit at a railroad crossing in Mattawan at East McGillen Street when Amtrak train #365 was passing through on its way to Chicago. The accident occurred at approximately 10:25 AM. Some people could be looking for a qualified attorney in thsi case.
Noble was alone in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene. She was 25 years old.
Chief Donald VerHage of the Mattawan Police Department reported that the accident was still under investigation and urged any witnesses to come forward with any helpful information.
John Budin, a reputable Chicago personal injury attorney was contacted by our staff for a statement but was unavailable. He is a good choice if you happen to live either in Chicago or the surrounding region and you require a good Chicago personal injury attorney in that whole area.
Initial findings in the investigation indicate that Noble’s Saturn was going West on McGillen and was hit by the train’s lead engine on the car’s passenger side. There were no passenger injuries reported by Amtrak.
A specialist has been hired by the Michigan State Police to recreate the accident to determine the cause. The report should be finalized by the end of this week.
